In 2023, Toronto and Peel Region were among 30 municipal and regional governments in Ontario to declare intimate partner violence an epidemic. Many survivors want to leave their abusive situations, but are often isolated and feel like they don’t have options. But they do.
Your gift to United Way Greater Toronto will ensure our neighbours facing gender-based violence can access the critical supports they need to help them get through crisis, remain out of harm’s way and build a new life. Your generosity will help us connect survivors to everything from emergency shelter and counselling to employment supports and financial and legal services.
